2024 AFLW All-Australian Squad named

THE HIGHLY anticipated AFL Women’s All-Australian Squad has been revealed, with plenty of intriguing choices among the 42-strong squad.

Included the squad are the likes of Jasmine Garner and Ebony Marinoff who are in contention for their seventh All-Australian blazer, and at the other end of the scale there are 21 players who could pick up their first blazer.

Among the 42 players are four Irishwomen – Aisling McCarthy, Aishling Moloney, Aileen Gilroy and Aine McDonagh – who will all be looking to emulate compatriot Orla O’Dwyer and pick up their maiden All-Australian blazer after the speedy Lion became the first Irishwoman to do so back in Season 6.

Hawthorn has the most players in the squad with six, while Adelaide, Brisbane and North Melbourne have five players each in the squad. On the other end of the scale, no Pies, Giants or Bulldogs made the cut.

The final team of 21 players, which includes a captain and a vice-captain, will be named at the W Awards on November 25.
