2024 AFLW Draft preview: Richmond Tigers
RICHMOND caused a stir when it opted to trade two-time All-Australian Eilish Sheerin to the premiers North Melbourne, but regained a first round selection for the 32-year-old and will head to the AFLW Draft with a couple of top 20 picks.

2024 RECORD: 7th, 6-4-1, 131.2% | Eliminated: Elimination Final
2024 PICKS: 10, 18, 31, 56, 59
LIST CHANGES:
IN: Montana Beruldsen (Sydney), Pick 10, Pick 31
OUT: Eilish Sheerin (North Melbourne), Imogen Brown (Sydney), Tamara Luke (retired), Molly Eastman, Courtney Jones, Amelia Peck, Stella Reid, Jemima Woods (delisted)
FIRST PICK:
Pick 10
While Pick 10 will certainly get pushed back a couple of spots due to bids, the Tigers will bring in an elite talent to add to its list. The Tigers might look long and hard at Western Jets star midfielder and Vic Metro MVP Sierra Grieves who will support the likes of Monique Conti and Ellie McKenzie on the inside. She is a natural ball-winner and superb around clearances.
Another consideration might be Oakleigh premiership skipper Sienna Tallariti to provide some rebound out of defence. A future captain of any club she goes to, Tallariti will immediately slot into any back 50 and add composure and sublime footskills to the transitional plays. A taller option could be Eastern Ranges’ Grace Belloni or the upside of ruck/forward/onballer Elli Symonds who are all around the mark.
REMAINING CROP:
Picks 18, 31, 56, 59
Pick 18 guarantees another quality player to walk into the program, and if any of the above were there, they would be strong cases. Belloni might be the most likely, so too Oakleigh midfielder Sarah Poustie or explosive tall midfielder Zoe Hargreaves who boasts similar traits to McKenzie, while being able to play on all three lines. Another option could be the athletic cross-coder Lavinia Cox who has a wide draft range.
Richmond currently has the four list spots, so might only end on 56 – perhaps passing and leaving a spot open for players to train, but will make a minimum third pick at 31. Rebounding defenders Taya Chambers and Esther Schirmer might come into the mix, but it is impossible not to link Holly Egan to Punt Road, with her sister Grace currently on the Tigers’ list.
KEY QUESTIONS:
– Will Richmond look to add another defender or midfielder to the list at Pick 10?
– Could the Egan sisters meet again at AFLW level?
– What will the Tigers do regarding their fourth pick, and would they look at a fifth selection with another list change?
