TOP 10s | 2025 Nationwide preseason testing
RECORDS tumbled around the nation as Under 18 footballers were put through their paces in preseason testing events across six states and territories from February to March. Athletes participated in the standing vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20m sprint, AFL agility test and Yo-Yo test.

Sydney Swans Academy member Max King was among the top talents to shine across several events. He ranked second and third in the respective running vertical jumps, and fourth in the 20m sprint in a showcase of the all-round athleticism which has him poised among the top five prospects nationwide.
King heads into the Swans’ Academy Series having booted six goals in his final Summer Series appearance, against Greater Western Sydney. While still quite raw, his dynamism and versatility as a midfielder-forward over 190cm makes him one of the most high-upside players going around.
Northern Knights top-ager James Allison was the only other player to feature on top 10 leaderboards across three different tests. He, too showcased spring-heeled jumping ability to place fifth in the standing leap and sixth in the running version, along with the fifth-best agility test time.
A handful of other players popped up across two leaderboards, including Glenelg defender Luke Candy and breakout Gold Coast Suns Academy prospect Koby Coulson. Only two players officially broke records across the country, though, in the yo-yo and agility tests.
Giants Academy player Alexander Marshall became the first to reach level 22.5 in the yo-yo test. Sandringham Dragons gut-runner Jack Dalton and Norwood’s Jeff Rozenbilds both clocked out at 22.4, with Dalton’s effort the equal-best ever recorded at a combine run by Rookie Me.
Elsewhere, Murray Bushrangers top-ager Jack Marks smashed the agility test record – twice – to land on a scintillating time of 7.65. No other player has broken the 7.7 second mark at a Rookie Me run event. Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Sam Allen was also the only player to breach a 100cm jump this year.
