A COUPLE of consistent top-age ball-winners lead all-comers in the 2025 Rookie Me Central Medal ahead of a host of Stingrays and Knights players chasing the early frontrunners for the Coates Talent League Girls competition. Calder Cannons high-production star Chloe Baker-West and GWV Rebels dynamo Maggie Johnstone share the lead on 13 votes after three rounds of play.
>>> RMC Medal votes: Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3
Baker-West kick-started her season with two best on ground performances, before earning the three votes against Johnstone’s Rebels. In the same game, the GWV talent notched up four votes, the same amount as she had in Round 2 following her incredible best on ground performance in a Round 1 loss.
The pair sit one vote clear of Dandenong Stingrays forward Nalu Brothwell who has two best on grounds either side of two votes in Round 2 for a total of 12. She is outright third with goalsneaks Rose Bell (Murray Bushrangers) and Evelyn Connolly (Dandenong Stingrays) rounding out the top five.
From a team perspective, the Stingrays have polled 41 of a possible 45 votes, while Eastern Ranges and Northern Knights have polled 30 from three games. The Northern Academies have only played the one round, but combined for 39 of a possible 60 votes from four matches.
