THE RACE for the Rookie Me Central Medal continues to heat up in the Coates Talent League Girls competition with the votes from the past two weeks handed down. As the AFL Women’s Under 18 Championships is on the horizon, many players will miss Coates Talent League Girls games over the next month or so, with others standing up.

Among the top vote-getters across the past fortnight were Dandenong Stingrays’ Lillian Snow who polled seven of a possible 10 votes, behind only Tayla Olivieri (Western Jets. who polled nine) and Ellie Hall (Murray Bushrangers, eight). Another Murray talent in Nikhita Spiteri also polled six votes.

Medal contenders Chloe Bown and Bailee Martin continued their charge to the top with the five and four vote combination once more in the win over Dandenong Stingrays, while Northern Territory closed out its Coates TalentLeague Girls campaign with double bottom-ager Peggy Rock earning the best afield honours.

The National Championships kick off on Sunday which means the opportunity for others to stand up across two Coates Talent League Girls games as Tasmania Devils take on Sandringham Dragons and Murray Bushrangers face Dandenong Stingrays.
