2025 RMC MEDAL | Penultimate round sees stars fire

WITH just one round remaining in the Coates Talent League Girls competition, the race for the Rookie Me Central Medal is almost over. Big votes from three of the top 10 have ensured a tight finish, though only two players can take out the medal in the final round.

>> SCROLL FOR FULL ROUND 17 VOTES

Oakleigh Chargers’ Chloe Bown polled another four votes from the weekend, just one shy of the full quota to sit that amount clear of Murray Bushrangers’ Ellie Hall who had the bye on the weekend. Both players will run out in Round 18, with the likes of Scarlett Johnson and Maggie Johnstone guaranteeing their spots in the top five.

Johnson polled four votes in a loss to Western Jets, while Johnstone was best-on despite a defeat to Dandenong Stingrays, while Geelong Falcons skipper Georgia Tyrrell added one more vote to her name to join the injured Chloe Baker-West in equal fifth spot. From that match, it was Teagan Murtic who polled the full five votes, while Northern midfielder Olivia Gorman was massive to pip Johnson for the five.

Elsewhere, bottom-ager Lily Milner picked up five in Gippsland’s victory over Sandringham Dragons to make it five Power players with double-digit votes, while Grace Dillow moved into the top 15 with three votes from the game, sitting on the same amount as Dragons onballer Macy Watkins who polled four in the same game.

Tasmanian double bottom-ager Matilda Lange was best on ground in the Devils’ big win over the Pioneers, and is one of five from her side with double-digit votes as well. Lacey Nihill surged further clear as Bendigo’s top vote-getter after four votes in that game.

Meanwhile Charlie O’Connor Moreira, Alex McBride-Loane and Tayla Olivieri added further votes to their names, with the latter just a vote off the top 10 heading into the final round. Dandenong Stingrays – who have shared the votes around this season saw the likes of Matilda Argus, Mizuki Brothwell and Lillian Snow all poll well.
