Draft season content ramps up next week

ROOKIE Me Central’s AFL and AFLW Draft content is about to ramp up as the last match of the regular 2025 underage season takes place tomorrow in the form of the Under 17 Futures. The AFL Grand Final has typically been the last men’s clash of the year in the code – other than the summer season in the Top End – and all the attention turns to the 2025 AFL Draft.

Of course the AFL Women’s season is up and running in the middle of Round 7 and will continue until the end of November. The turnaround between the season conclusion and the off-season is a blink of an eye, so our junior girls coverage will start well prior to the AFLW season wrapping up.

CONTENT TO LOOK OUT FOR:

  • September AFL Draft Power Rankings
  • National Futures Scouting Notes
  • AFL Draft Profiles commence next week
  • AFLW Draft content pieces followed by AFLW Draft Profiles starting later October
  • Draft Combine related content
  • Interviews with AFL and AFLW Draft prospects
  • Our annual AFL and AFLW Draft Guides will be back over the next two months

DRAFT PROFILES:

Our 2024 AFL Draft Profiles will begin on Tuesday, with up to three profiles per day. Each of the National Draft Combine invitees will have expansive profiles, and as with last year, will include not just in-depth information about the player, but also stats and highlights as well.

Following the National Draft Combine profiles, Pocket Profiles will be completed for State Draft Combine players, with all profiles included in our AFL Draft Guide with the release date to be announced in the coming weeks.

DRAFT COMBINE:

The 2025 Draft Combines run across the two weekends post-AFL Grand Final so keep an eye out on our social channels for live updates, as well as recap results across the various testing events. We will be on hand in South Australia and Western Australia for the October 11-12 State Draft Combines as well.

AFLW DRAFT CONTENT:

In the lead-up to the AFLW Draft profiles commencing, we will look to add far more draft analysis than ever before, with indepth comparison pieces, and topical discussion points, as well as more features and analysis. As with the boys’ draft profiles, the girls will also have the same level of detail including highlights.
