DARWIN Buffaloes import Tom Simpson filled his boots in a remarkable all-round performance, despite his side’s loss to Tiwi in Round 15. The Victorian native led the league for clearances (nine) this weekend, while also amassing nine marks, eight inside 50s and a goal among his 35 disposals.

The midfield battle between PINT and St Mary’s also produced some big numbers. Greenant James Rowe led the way with 29 touches on return, while ruckman and teammate Connor McDonald prised eight clearances – a tally matched by Saints gun Connor West. The latter was also among Round 15’s top tacklers with seven, an area St Mary’s owned in their crucial victory on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Wanderers standout Cody Leggett led all comers with 38 disposals as his side went down to Waratah. His preferred method was to go by foot, notching 24 kicks, while also generating some fluency out of defence with nine rebound 50s. He remains one of the league’s form players.

The Tahs were led by Joel Stevens, whose 30 disposals and nine inside 50s saw him named best on ground. He was also one of 15 players to kick two goals in Round 15. Meanwhile, Nightcliff’s Brett Kennedy spearheaded the Tiger’s win over Palmerston with a high of four majors.
