>> SCROLL for the Top 5 in each test

One of the best across the board was Perth’s Niah Catto, a bottom-ager who finished top five across both the vertical jumps – running and standing – 20m sprint and agility test in what was a remarkable all-round effort. Claremont’s Lucy Gilbey – sister of West Australian representative Ella – showed of her similar freakish athletic gifts with high scores across the board, highlighted by the best agility run, and a second place in the 20m sprint.

The oldest player at the event, 2006-born Elly Sara, shared the spoils in the yo-yo test with Sharks bottom-ager Olivia McCay. The pair blitzed the field to record a 17.3 level, clearing the next best of 16.8. Swan Districts’ Charli Grau clocked a remarkable 3.162 seconds on the 20m sprint, while bottom-age tall Hannah Seaborn leapt 56cm on the standing vertical jump to be the best in that discipline.

South Fremantle junior Alexis Edgley cleared the running vertical jump comfortably with 67cm, while National Academy member Cara Dziegielewski finished in the top five. Peel Thunder’s Maya Walsh and Catto were the two players with top five finishes in both the jump events. Other State Academy members who managed top five efforts included Subiaco’s Scarlet Gallo and Peel Thunder’s Heidi Ireland who were fourth and fifth respectively in the agility test, while Sandgropers’ over-ager Lucy Greenwood was second.
