Speedy Wodonga Raiders prospect Matt Neagle comes from good pedigree as the son of Essendon great, Merv, with the Bombers laying claim to him as a possible father-son recruit. The benefactor of an eye-catching highlights tape, Neagle raised eyebrows with his break-neck speed and agility through traffic. Matched with that is his lauded decision making going forward, making him a real 50-100 metre player. The lightly-built outsider can work on his strength and durability, while another obvious knock on him is the level that he currently plays at, with a hamstring tear preventing him from breaking into the Essendon VFL side this year. Should the former Murray Bushranger be overlooked this year, there is the potential for him to prove himself at VFL level and attract even more attention.
