2026 AFL/W National Championships schedule confirmed

THE LONG-awaited release of the 2026 AFL Under 18 and Under 16, and AFLW Under 18 Championships is over after the AFL confirmed the fixtures for the three national carnivals. While a number of contests are yet to confirm exact venues and/or times, the matchdays have been locked in for fans to make note in their calendars.

It all starts on Monday, June 8 when Northern Territory and Tasmania travel to Dingley to face off in the opening of the AFL Under 16 Championships as part of a double-header with Vic Metro and Vic Country at the Kennedy Community Centre. Further matches in that competition take part later in the month, before the annual week-long extravaganza leading to the conclusion of the carnival.

At Under 18s level, a double-header between traditional rivals Western Australia and Sotuh Australia takes place in Perth at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday, June 13. The following day, an Allies and Vic Country double-header is up at Blacktown, while simultaneously Vic Metro hosts Queensland at GMHBA Stadium in the girls’.

From there, the likes of Perth, Alberton Oval, Brighton Homes Arena and Marvel Stadium host games, as well as various venues around Melbourne to close out both carnivals. The girls concludes with a triple-header in Victoria on July 11, while the annual Vic Country and Vic Metro battle in the boys takes place eight days later.
