Team of the Week: VFLW- Round 3
ROUND three of the Victorian Football League (VFL) Women’s turned out to be a round of very one-sided matches.The Saints taking on the Demons turned out to be the best game of the round, with the Saints running out winners by eight points in a tough contest.
The winners are evident looking at this week’s best 22. Hawthorn, NT Thunder and Geelong are the best represented with four players each, while the Southern Saints and Collingwood have three players each.
Carlton and Williamstown are the worst represented teams of the round with no players making the cut, as both teams only managed two goals between them.
Thunder captain, Angela Foley was clearly the best performing player of the week. She gathered 28 disposals and kicked two goals in a huge performance, which played a big part in the big win over Essendon. She was a clear lock in the team this week. Richelle Cranston was also one of the best performers of the round, with 17 disposals.
NT Thunder’s Renee Forth was very unlucky to miss out on the Team of the Week with her one goal and 18 disposals against Essendon.
