Team of the Week: NAB League Boys – Round 4

WESTERN Jets’ impressive win over Northern Territory has seen them rewarded with the most players in the Draft Central NAB League Boys’ Team of the Week for Round 4. Five Jets have made the side comprised of the seven full-time teams in the NAB League Boys competition. The Jets had one more than other winner,  Eastern Ranges and narrow loser Tasmania, while Calder Cannons, Sandringham Dragons and Northern Knights had three players each. Oakleigh Chargers were well beaten by Gold Coast, and had just the two players make the Team of the Week.

Western Jets’ Aaron Clarke makes the team for a second consecutive week at centre-half forward, joined in the side by teammates, Josh Kellett, Jonah Horo, Daly Andrews and Will Kennedy. The latter crossed from Sandringham Dragons and is one of three rucks in the side with Sandringham’s Riley Bowman – who ironically also changed sides from Dandenong Stingrays – and Northern Knights’ Nathan Howard. Nick Burke slots into the side at half-back for another Dragon representative, while Angus Hanrahan has been named at half-forward. Also in the side from the Knights is consistent midfielder, Sam Philp and overager, Sunny Brazier.

Eastern Ranges had four players named in the team with Joshua Clarke, Chayce Black, Ben Hickleton and Salele Feagaimalii all impressing in the win over Brisbane Lions Academy. Tasmania lost to Calder but had four players named with defenders, Nicholas Baker, Oscar Shaw and Patrick Walker all finding plenty of it, while Jackson Callow looms as a top prospect for the future, named at centre-half forward once again. Calder had the three players named in the team themselves with Jacob Martin in the back pocket, Harrison Minton-Connell in the middle and Ned Gentile also in the squad of 24. To round out the side, Oakleigh overager Joe Ayton-Delaney sits on a wing, joined in the team by Kaden Schreiber who also stood up in an otherwise disappointing day for the Chargers.
