Kaylea Kobzan is a reliable defender with a raking left boot who has been able to get the job done for both Murray Bushrangers and Vic Country over the last few seasons. Though 2023 saw an up-and-down year for the defender, Kobzan still provided a presence in the air, mopped up time and time again for the Bushrangers, and even showed some promising signs up forward.

She is strong one-on-one, has good defensive craft and will always compete in the air despite being a touch undersized against a key position player. More of a third tall at AFLW level, Kobzan gives 100 per cent effort and leads by example. With areas to improve on such as her kicking consistency - despite having penetration - and endurance which could improve, she has a number of traits that will have caught AFLW clubs eyes.

Kobzan could be a player who in the future develops into a tall forward, having shown some great signs as a contested marking option inside 50. With further improvement in her endurance, the Bushrangers talent could even become a bigger bodied inside midfielder, but for now remains a predominant powerful kicking defender.
