Happy Stinear looking for a more consistent Dees

ALTHOUGH Melbourne got their fifth win of the season on the weekend, Melbourne coach Mick Stinear acknowledged that his side did not have things all their own way against Fremantle. “It was very much a grind. I would say we got outworked, clearances and around the contest for the day. I feel like they’re a […]

Tigers claw into top eight with Suns win

RICHMOND is four points and percentage inside the top eight, winning a crucial game against Gold Coast at Punt Road to move clear ahead of the ninth placed Suns. A loss would have seen the Tigers tumble back to ninth themselves, but in winning their fourth consecutive match, Richmond moved to a 4-2 record and […]

SUNDAY’S action in the AFLW saw largely expected results with all the favourites winning, but they did not all do it as easily as their final winning margins may suggest. Melbourne was pushed by Fremantle but still got a comfortable win, while Brisbane and North Melbourne easily took care of Essendon and Sydney respectively.

AFLW Season 7: Round 6 Talking Points – This season just keeps on giving

THERE were some huge results across Round 6 of the AFL Women’s on Saturday, as the top eight sides gained separation on the rest, and just four points separating those teams. GWS bounced back from last week in the perfect way with a win over Carlton, while Geelong resigned the Bulldogs to their second straight […]

Moves help Hawks hunt Eagles

A SERIES of moves – by a mixture of design and coincidence – helped Hawthorn win its second straight game of the AFL Women’s season, taking out West Coast by three points in a blustery Frankston last night. Hawthorn coach Bec Goddard was the mastermind behind the moves, which included Jess Duffin going forward to […]
