Recap
Michael Alvaro’s scouting notes
Northern Knights:
#3 Corey McKay – Showed real class and strength around goal, almost played out of the square at times. Really like the move forward, can obviously win loads of the ball in the middle too.
#7 Mason Blakey – Quiet early but came into the game late when it was in the balance. Pitched in with some nice interceptions and key marks down back, real skipper’s effort.
#32 Mitch Andrews – Won a lot of his own ball and was crucial in linking play between the arcs. Really consistent and tough performer.
#39 Marcus Lentini – Provided dash and hardness across half back all day, was the most penetrating and damaging of the Knights.
Eastern Ranges:
#7 Jordan Gallucci – Carried a knock to his hip throughout, but came back on to show his class in a more advanced role. Impressed with his effort – had nine tackles too.
#16 Jaidyn Stephenson – Shining light in the game at times. Was tough, yet smooth and clean when needed. Ran all day, was terrific
#33 Kane Keppel – Best on ground performance, sometimes wayward with his disposal but was in everything
#51 Josh Begley – Stands out with his huge frame, yet remained quiet throughout most of the game. Lacked zip at times, but pressure was good around the packs.
