Recap
A scrappy contest at Preston City Oval saw Sandringham prove to strong for the Northern Knights wining by 24 points 10.10.70 to 6.10.46. In a highly contestant game, neither team was able to win clear footy for the first three quarters before the Dragons outside midfielders dominated to provide opportunities to their forwards and run away with the win.
Peter Bonadio’s scouting notes:
Northern Knights:
#7 Mason Blakey: Defensive rock for Northern, great intercept player who read the ball well also very good in one on one contests.
#28 Sam Binion: Good contestant mark for a small to mid size forward. Pretty good set shot, finished with 4.2.
Sandringham Dragons:
#6 Goy Lok: Great run and carry. Ball use is pretty effective, gets a good distance on his kick and was also good in contests.
#51 Joshua Gorman: Good inside midfielder. Was able to get the ball out to the running midfielders quiet often.
#53 Aaron Trusler: Very smart football. Has a lot of poise and has the ability to give himself time to make the right choice. Very good foot skills with majority of his disposals being effective.
