The oldest player to receive a Draft Combine invite this year at 25, Geelong VFL mature-ager Bailey Van De Heuvel has done the hard yards to get to this point. He has played through a variety of clubs at different levels, and now holds his own as a state league key defender. He is strong overhead, as reliable as they come aerially, and boasts clean hands which hold him in good stead.

Furthermore, Van De Heuvel has great composure with ball-in-hand, and is a player who can make things happen from the back half. The readymade key defender may lack the speed and agility of others, but looks well suited to lockdown roles What he does in the air and one-on-one holds is solid enough to blanket master key forwards. One of the few talls who could slot straight into a lineup.
