While Brisbane Lions Academy has produced two Top 20 picks in this year's AFL Draft, Brinn Little earned the Gold Coast Suns Academy Player of the Year for his efforts throughout 2022. A consistent key defender with good size and a reliable kick, Little was able to be an intercepting and rebounding force from the back 50 for both the Suns Academy, and Allies throughout the short stints in the NAB League and AFL Under 18 Championships.

For the Suns Academy, Little averaged 13 disposals, 5.7 marks, 4.3 tackles and 4.0 rebound 50s, showcasing his aerial presence and consistency. For the Allies, Little looked comfortable behind the ball with another 11 disposals, four marks and 4.3 rebound 50s across three matches, kicking at an elite 85 per cent. Though Little is a reliable kick, a lot of his effective kicks come via distance, as he is able to clear the ball long down the line, but also hit up the safer options.

In terms of improvements, Little has just played as a key defender, so does not have as much exposure up the other end as some others. More critically though, Little wins a lot of his disposals from either intercept marks or handball receives (67 per cent). If he can improve his ground ball work, he can take a step further, but is a good size for clubs.
