SUMMARY: Mobile Frankston forward Corey Rich has come on leaps and bounds on the back of added opportunity at the Dolphins, with an array of skills applicable to multiple positions. Rich is most comfortable inside 50, highlighted by his hauls of six, five, and four goals during this year's VFL season. Rich's aerial ability above his size makes him dangerous from any kind of ball inside 50, but his set shot goal kicking could do with some improving if he is to take full advantage of his forward capabilities. At 183cm, Rich seamlessly moved into the role of an inside midfielder after a mid-season lull, and used his outstanding endurance to have an impact in that position. That versatility makes him a prospect with large scope, as not many come through with the ability to play as a third forward and apt inside midfielder. A self-made comparison to Richmond's Kane Lambert as a high half forward who can play through the middle is accurate in terms of the kind of role Rich could play at the next level. The other area is his accumulation given the defensive pressure will be higher at AFL level, but with the talent clearly there, but just the one year of full data to look upon, so it will be interesting to see where clubs rate him on their draft boards.
