Summary
SNAPSHOT: “A powerful utility who is strong one-on-one and a reliable contested ball-winner.”
Harriet Bingley has been on the periphery of the AFLW Draft scene for a number of years now and continued to earn opportunities through both the Allies and All-Stars alongside her Tasmania Devils season. The utility mostly played midfielder/forward, working in tandem with Priya Bowering as that strong player in the air and around the contest.
In a junior career that started like most, Bingley kicked off her Northern Tasmanian Junior Football Association (NTJFA) through East Launceston in 2018, and progressed through to have a huge season a year later, named among the beset nine times in 13 outings, while booting eight goals. She still got play 10 games through 2020 when those north of the Bass Strait were in lockdown, and she continued her trajectory into the Under 17s by 2021 when she was just 14.
By 2022, Bingley was representing the NTJFA at Under 17s level, and booted a total of 22 goals across 14 games for East Launceston, named among the best on 12 occasions. She was also named in the cross-state National Development Championships where she represented the north against the south, and impressed in the contest.
Her double bottom-age campaign rolled around and so did her state representation, donning ‘The Map’ at the National Development Championships where she booted four goals against Northern Territory. In and out of the Tasmania Devils’ Under 18s side, Bingley was a dominant force up forward for East Launceston. She slammed home 44 goals in eight games, including a bag of 11, three hauls of seven and one of six, showing the discrepancy between the best and worst sides.
By the time her bottom-age season had rolled around, Bingley was in the Allies’ squad playing one game and cemented her place in the Devils. She played 13 matches, averaging 13.4 disposals, 2.5 marks, 2.7 tackles and booted 16 goals largely being the forward who pinch-hit in other spots. Throughout 2025, she had more midfield time but still spent moments up forward, averaging a goal per game from her nine matches.
At the end of the season, Bingley would earn a State Draft Combine invite and keep her name in draft contention. She looms as one of five potential prospects from the Apple Isle.

STRENGTHS:
+ Strength
+ Contested work
+ Kick penetration
+ Versatility
+ One-on-ones
+ Clean hands
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Athleticism
- Endurance
- Polish
A strong and powerful utility, Bingley really honed in on more midfield time in 2025. While not racking up a stack of clearances, she was able to use her body effectively around the coalface and competed well one-on-one. At ground level, Bingley is fundamentally clean, and her handballs to teammates in the clear were effective both under pressure and in space.
From a footballing sense, Bingley might not be the most polished player, but she has a powerful, penetrating kick and when given any sort of time and space, has the natural smarts to find targets forward of centre. When inside 50, she can be that key marking target, and is arguably best suited to the role that brought her so much success throughout her junior career on the Apple Isle.
Her marking is strong and as she showed throughout the Coates Talent League Girls season, Bingley can provide defensive pressure at ground level. It made the forward-midfielder capable of competing in the aerial contest before following up with a defensive act, or using her bigger frame to win the hardball at ground level.
Almost one quarter of her gathers at Coates Talent League Girls level came from a hardball (23.64 per cent) which is indicative of her ability to compete at ground level. That strength she possesses and clean hands in close aid in Bingley's ability to win the contested ball and feed it out to a good option.
The main knock on Bingley's game comes from her athletic profile, with the Tasmanian not the most explosive or agile player running around. These areas can continue to improve - along with her endurance which is okay but can get even better - but is a clear way of improving from where she is now. If Bingley ends up that marking forward, then some of those elements are not as important because she does have some good hands and a powerful kick.
As a whole it is easy to see why Bingley has been around the draft calculations with her ability to seize control up forward, or in one-on-ones around the ground. She can play across all three lines, and when she is forward, kicks goals. Her goal-a-game average from the Coates Talent League Girls over the past three seasons further illustrates that point.
DRAFT RANGE: Late
SUMMARY:
Harriet Bingley has some safe hands and a penetrating kick which holds her in good stead for the future. If not picked up in this year’s AFLW Draft, Bingley has the potential to further improve her athletic profile and polish up areas of her game to be an option in the coming seasons.
