SUMMARY: Harry Reynolds is one of many to have impressed during the school footy season and grabbed their opportunity at TAC Cup level later in the year. Having put in an arguably best-afield performance for the winning Associated Private School (APS) side with 24 disposals and six clearances, Reynolds continued his form with solid showings for Sandringham in his four games for them. Reynolds is clean in-close, averaging over three clearances per TAC Cup game, while over 60 per cent of his possessions were contested. He is often able to flick out handballs to good effect, while also having the option to break clear through traffic. Reynolds’ elite 20m sprint time of 2.94 seconds placed him around the top 10 mark for the entire draft pool.. If he can win the ball more often in dangerous areas, those traits will become more obvious and damaging. An area for improvement remains Reynolds’ kicking efficiency, with his 53 per cent rate and 23.3 per cent kick clanger percentage not quite at the level that would bode well for a player that could transition to half-back or a wing. Still, Reynolds has good potential and could become one to play a role on either side of the contest.
