Eastern Ranges defender Harry Flynn is a small, but talented player who is comfortable running the ball out of the back half, finishing the season in a blaze of glory. Returning from a long-term injury having played just two games in 2021, Flynn played the final eight matches of the NAB League season, and seemed to improve as the year went on. Though unable to crack the loaded Vic Metro squad, Flynn picked up 20-plus disposals in four of his last five games.

As a small defender, Flynn's work rate is akin to that of the leading State Draft Combine talent Harvey Gallagher, and he is able to roam up and down the ground, something her felt more comfortable doing as the season progressed. Though not overly strong and still needs a greater defensive output, Flynn is good enough in that department that clubs can work with what he has, and look to improve the other areas of his game.

Flynn is a composed user of the ball who is efficient by hand or foot, and though not completely the most damaging player in terms of hurt factor, he does find enough of it to mop up in defence. If he can apply consistent defensive pressure and utilise his skills to even greater effect, the Eastern Ranges small could be a handy player in the future.
