Tenacious smalls are often among the most fun footballers to watch, and Hudson Walker fits that bill. The Subiaco prospect made waves with his Round 1 League debut this year, one of four appearances at the level. He also turned out six times at Colts level and completed a full National Championships with Western Australia, famously kicking the winning goal against Vic Country.

While measuring up on the smaller side, Walker is a great competitor who thrives on contested situations. Whether running on-ball or joining the stoppages as a high forward, his clean hands and explosive speed are weapons which help bring the ball forward with great energy. Further to that, he cuts off opposition exits with relentlessly tough defensive pressure.

The intensity and physicality with which Walker operates ask questions of the opposition, though sometimes the same queries fall back on him. He can continue to develop his kicking under pressure and on the run, given he is prone to dumping the ball out of packs. Adding that touch of polish will help round out a game which is already high on work rate and raw power.
