Hugo Nosiara is a talented small who can play half-forward or further afield, and provides some zip around the ground. Averaging 16.4 disposals, 2.4 marks and 3.2 inside 50s across 11 games, the 180cm player missed out on Vic Country selection, but still maintained a consistent year. With many others who played his position on the representative stage, Nosiara continued to ply his trade at NAB League level, where he contributed strongly in the Stingrays' run to the 2022 NAB League Grand Final.

Nosiara's consistency is what stands out, and while he is not a notable high accumulator, he also has a high floor in terms of what he provides each week. In 2022, his first season in Stingrays colours, Nosiara did not dip below 13 disposals, but also only hit the 20-plus disposal mark once - against the Oakleigh Chargers in Round 11.  He has some nice speed and is efficient with ball-in-hand, also having a strong work rate to push up the ground.

Overall his production numbers are still low for the role he plays, and he is very light at 71kg, so is more a long-term project for clubs. The big question will be whether or not Nosiara has shown enough without the Vic Country representation in a popular role for aspiring AFL talents, but he certainly has some neat traits and upside to-boot.
