Jacob Molier put his name on the map after a sensational performance at the South Australian draft combine. The Sturt tall placed fifth nationwide in the 20m sprint (2.920 seconds) and was deceptively nimble across the agility test, especially for a 201cm prospect. Now, he firms as a potential draft smokey.
Athleticism is a clear strength of Molier's which points to significant upside. He possesses strong ruck craft though, able to get first hand to the ball and guide it to the advantage of teammates. Some of his best hits were utterly brilliant, though he was made to rotate forward with the continued emergence of Alex Dodson.
While otherwise excellent across the board, Molier's 2km time trial was his weakest event at the state draft combine. Building that running capacity will help boost his production levels and get involved more around the ground, rather than just in the ruck contest or when winning clearances. He could also improve his set shot goalkicking to enhance his impact as a forward.
