Jett Dahlitz was one of the architects of Sturt’s premiership success this season. His ball use out of the defensive half was exceptionally reliable, and he was rightfully entrusted with the Double Blues’ kick-in duties. His Grand Final performance was typical of his measured approach, racking up 37 disposals with 33 being kicks.
Dahlitz's right foot is his major asset. He can deliver deftly and, if required, blast a 50-meter pass from the defensive half of the ground to the forward arc. The rebounding defender is also a capable interceptor who reads the play adeptly and can clunk overhead grabs before switching tact onto the counterattack.
There is no query on his ability to accumulate possessions on the attack, although Dahlitz can still look to work on the defensive side of his game. He did so in his first year with the state program. Enhancing his one-on-one and lockdown craft will help round out his profile, along with building a bit more size to help handle the rigours of senior footy.
