Woodville-West Torrens prospect Jett Hasting is made of leadership material. He proved it by putting in a best afield performance as the Eagles took out this year's SANFL Under 18 premiership, posting 20 disposals, seven tackles and a goal to help drag his side over the line in a nailbiting decider.

At the crux of Hasting's game, leadership qualities aside, is his running capacity. He covers the ground well with a strong work ethic and is accustomed to producing line-breaking bursts on the outside. On the inside, he's a strong competitor who uses his frame to post off opponents and extract the hard ball.

Though, given his primary role will likely be off half-back at senior level, Hasting can look to work on his ball use. He is capable of delivering neat short passes but sometimes is forced to revert to that style having been a little too cute with earlier attempts. Speed is another key improvement area.
