Jhett Haeata has come a long way in a short amount of time in the Sandringham Dragons' program. Flourishing with 10 games in 2024, the speedy utility finished third in his side's best and fairest count despite having his season cut short by a gnarly broken arm in Round 16.

While many of his highly credentialed teammates were off plying their trade at representative level, Haeata was a mainstay for the Dragons and thrived when shifted into midfield. There, he was able to showcase his ability to burst to the outside with an explosive turn of speed and the ability to gain quick metres.

Haeata had also played off the wing and half-back, but added another role to his arsenal with forward rotations. His clean set of hands and searing speed saw him produce scoring opportunities, though some work can be done on his end product. Along with his tattoos and rat's tail, such plays made him hard to miss on-field. Post-injury, Haeata can look to rebuild his running capacity.
