Fremantle Next Generation Academy member Josh Draper is one of several Dockers-tied prospects vying for a spot at the next level, and his massive athletic upside has put him firmly in the frame to do so. The Peel Thunder tall, who can play both forward and back, faced his fair share of adversity this year but came away as a WAFL Colts premiership player. He'll be looking to make good on the decision to prioritise football over a promising basketball career which also yielded state selection last year.

Draper endured illness in the early part of the season before a nasty ankle injury sustained in just his third outing ruled him out of action for several months. He returned in Round 20 and contributed to the Thunder's run to premiership glory, showing promise at either end of the ground. His best trait is his athleticism, particularly in the way of jumping, where he shone during state combine testing to notch scores in the top three - both standing and running.

While firmly placed in the high upside category for his mobility and versatility, clubs have a small sample size to go off with Draper, and rebuilding a fitness base and some consistency will only help his chances. For Fremantle, he may loom as a free rookie hit through the NGA.
