SUMMARY: Josh Kemp has rocketed into draft contention this year on the back of an impressive four-goal TAC Cup debut. It only took three games in the elite Under 18 competition for Kemp to earn a State Combine invite, after impressing in local football for Aberfeldie and school footy for PEGS in the first half of the season. The crafty forward is surprisingly strong overhead, and finds the goals with ease on account of his speed and smarts. Kemp's on-field athletic strengths were solidified by his combine results, with a 2.97-second 20m sprint time and 90cm running vertical jump putting him in the elite category. For all his promise though, Kemp still has a couple of areas to work on as he continues his rapid development. The Calder product will hope to improve his overall consistency by raising his disposal hauls and getting involved for longer periods. And while Kemp booted multiple goals in three of his TAC Cup games, he was also held goalless in his remaining three hit-outs. Overall, Kemp has certainly caught the eye and there is a good base to improve on at the next level.
