An emerging prospect out of St Kilda's Next Generation Academy, Lennox Hofmann is one of many Sandringham premiership players in line to be drafted. The tall defender essentially took over Luke Trainor's role as a roaming intercept and rebound defender to help the Dragons win a third-straight flag.

Hofmann, who is club-tied due to his parents' Swiss heritage, also lit up the state draft combine with his 20m time of 2.861 seconds - the best overall. He utilises it to burst away with assuredness on the rebound, leaving opponents in his wake. It also comes in handy when closing in on the contest to intercept, which he does with a clean set of hands.

Being able to read the play so well has made Hofmann an effective third tall defender. While he can perhaps work on some of his kicking execution, he is generally composed and distributes the ball well. The other key area for improvement is his one-on-one defending. He was tested by the likes of Cooper Hynes and Harvey Langford in this year's preliminary final, but made adjustments to turn the tide.
