SUMMARY: Mathew Walker is one of the more unique prospects in the AFL Draft because of his strength overhead for his size and ability to clunk grabs and turn a game. He has a more mature body than most draft hopefuls, and he uses that to his advantage in the air and at ground level. He can tend to make some mistakes by foot - kicking at 53.4 per cent efficiency with a 16.5 per cent clanger kick rate, but also wins a truckload of the ball in the contest. Nonetheless, sharpening up his kicking a little and remaining composed under pressure more often would improve his game even further. Up forward he provides good value because of his clean marking and goal sense, where he has shown if given space, he can hurt opposition teams on the scoreboard. He is a player that is readymade for senior football whether that is at the elite level, or in a state league.
