Max Beattie is mature-age prospect who came into the Woodville-West Torrens program this year and had a blinder of a season. Now former Eagles coach Jade Sheedy regarded the 19-year-old highly, playing him both through the midfield and up forward where he was able to consistently impact matches.

Though he stands at just 173cm and 70kg, which is always going to raise question marks at AFL level, Beattie has a clean set of hands and can hold his own overhead. He can still build more strength to compete against the bigger bodies at the top level, but his accomplishments in 2023 speak for themselves.

A more readymade prospect than most with a State Draft Combine invite, if he misses out then Beattie might be a good candidate for a Mid-Season Draft pick. He's one to watch as a potential balanced forward, with recruiters looking particularly deep into the wider talent pool this year.
