Among the raft of club-tied talent this year is Adelaide father-son hopeful Mitchell Stevens, the son of 101-game premiership player Mark. Stevens junior will hope to land at West Lakes via the Gippsland Power, where he has played consecutive 16-game seasons to eventually step up into the Vic Country squad this year and keep his name on the radar.

The 186cm utility is renowned for his versatility. He switched from forward to defence last year and came into 2025 hoping for more midfield exposure, both on-ball and on the wing. Whether in the air or at ground level, Stevens is a great competitor who can win the ball with a clean set of hands, but also applies pressure to the opposition with his tackle efforts.

With ball in hand, Stevens showcases his speed and power to drive forward. That means he can work from in to out at stoppages or break the lines as a rebound defender. Stevens can still build on his running tank to in turn boost his production levels, while greater composure could help enhance his kicking damage, given it is already quite penetrative.
