A smart and smooth-moving left-footer, Sydney Swans Academy midfielder Molly Thomas is another NSW-ACT prospect with upside. Thomas has a great balance of offensive and defensive impact, and while she has to iron out some aspects of her game, has an array of weapons that help her on-field influence.

Thomas competes well in the air, and though not a massive marking player, is able to size up the ball drop and position herself accordingly. A lot of her touches came in tight congestion though, with the midfielder often using a fast first few steps to breakaway and then lower the eyes and hit targets forward of centre. Her clean hands in traffic certainly stood out throughout her Swans Academy stint, and she transferred that to the Allies where she held her own.

While her footy smarts - in particular her decision making such as lowering the eyes going inside 50 - stand out, she has been working hard on her kicking technique, in particular her ball drop as the right-hander is a left-footer which makes it difficult to adjust on the move. That means her composure when under pressure can often involve over-cooking the kick. With any time and space however, Thomas can do plenty of damage and even with only 10-17 touches per game, make them feel like 20-25. A player definitely worth a look for the future.
