STRENGTHS:
+ Athleticism
+ Intercept marking
+ Kicking
+ Reading the play
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Durability
- Ground level work
A mature-age player who has had plenty of experience at VFL level, Mutaz El Nour is a current Tiger with significant upside. The Sudanese born tall defender has continued to get better at a rapid rate and has had a couple of near-misses at the draft. El Nour burst onto the scene as a prominent intercepting player with great offensive flair, but in 2023, ticked off the box for defensive capabilities in the yellow and black.
He averaged 12.8 disposals, 3.8 marks and 3.4 rebound 50s and held his own among the best in the VFL. Still only 22 years-old, El Nour has a more all-round game than he did when he first started, and while he has had some injuries over the journey that have caused him some setbacks and his ground level play needs work, he has eye-catching athleticism - particularly in the aerial realm.
DRAFT RANGE: Late/Rookie
