Olivia Meagher is a player who has been on the fringes of getting picked up in the past, first through the Eastern Ranges, and then Collingwood VFLW where she was even an injury replacement player at one stage. However despite not actually playing a game - then being overlooked and heading to Townsville - Meagher has returned to the fold with a ridiculous season for QAFLW premiers Southport Sharks.

A competitive beast, Meagher is a neat user by hand or foot and one of her biggest improvements as a junior and at VFLW level - hitting the scoreboard - has been well and truly put to bed with a remarkable 31 goals in 15 games for the Sharks, including a bag of six and two hauls of four. She stands at 157cm, but clunked 24 contested marks - equal third in the competition - and her 39 inside 50 marks were second overall.

Despite being small - and no doubt AFLW clubs still paint that as a knock - she is far greater at areas for her height than her size may suggest. She is pound-for-pound one of - if not - the strongest player for her size, clunking overhead marks for fun. Her speed has also improved over the years, and aside from perhaps some polish at times - she kicked five behinds in the grand final - Meagher has all the tools to be given a shot at the elite level.
