SUMMARY: AFL teams are ever increasingly looking for players who use the ball with procession coming out of the defensive 50. If they are looking for a draft prospect with clean skills then Regan Spooner is certainly someone who ticks that box. The 18 year-old South Fremantle half-back had an excellent 2018 season both in the national Under 18s carnival and for his WAFL club. Spooner has very good general skills and can hit a target on the chest much further afield. The youngster has the added ability to push into the midfield and that versatility will be invaluable when his name gets discussed on draft night. Spooner's performances in the Colts got the ultimate reward when he was given a league debut in the final round of the home and away season against East Fremantle. Spooner certainly did not look out of place collecting 25 disposals and eight marks during the contest. If he can add a few more kilos to his frame, Spooner shapes as being someone who can play senior footy on a consistent basis next year. A definite draft smoky.
