Subiaco over-ager Riley Wills was a late call-up to the West Australian Under 18 team, and it was easy to see why having produced a consistent Colts season with the Lions. At the national carnival, Wills averaged 20.0 disposals, 3.3 marks, 4.3 clearances, 5.7 tackles and 2.7 inside 50s to be one of Western Australia's more productive players, while also tying for the Jack Clarke Medal at Colts level.
His clearance work in particular stands out, and that is largely due to his athletic gifts which are plentiful. Wills has an explosive turn of foot, coupled with great power for a small and all-round athleticism. He was another West Australian who had a 94cm running vertical jump, while running sub-three and sub-eight seconds in the 20m sprint and agility respectively. Wills' kicking consistency, particularly under pressure could sharpen up, and at his size, Wills may start out as a forward or wing.
