A physically imposing swingman, Shaun Bennier has long been an established name in the South Australian talent pathway. The North Adelaide talent represented his state at Under 17 and 18 levels over the last two years, while also helping the Roosters reach this season's SANFL Under 18 grand final.

Though strongly-built and well developed, Bennier plays tall and thus moves relatively well for a player of his 193cm standing. He clocked in at just over three seconds across 20m, and ranked second among South Australia's state combine lot for agility, proving his ability to burst and break. On-field, he is most prominent aerially where he holds his own one-on-one and loves to chime in with intercepts.

Throughout 2022, Bennier tended to start games in defence before being thrust forward if need be. He enjoyed great success at both ends of the ground as a genuinely versatile asset, averaging four rebound 50s and booting eight goals across his 11 games for North Adelaide. His SANFL Under 18s campaign also comprised of a four-goal effort against Glenelg in Round 7. In the way of improvement, Bennier is a slightly awkward size and could perhaps sharpen his disposal, or accumulate more and make his long kicking a weapon.
