Even spread across competition for Team of the Week

FOUR sides had two representatives in our Victorian Women’s Premier Cricket Firsts Team of the Week for Round 9. Ringwood Rams, Box Hill Mustangs, Dandenong Panthers and Melbourne Demons all managed two players apiece, with Prahran True Blues, EMP Bombers and Carlton Blues registering the one.

1. Bhavisha Devchand (Ringwood)

The Ringwood opener continued her fantastic form this season, smacking an 83 to help guide her side to the win against the Mustangs

2. Zoe Griffiths (Box Hill)

The Box Hill captain really had a skipper’s knock on the weekend, hitting a 66 to try and get her team over the line against the Rams.  

3. Hayleigh Brennan (Melbourne)

The ever reliable Brennan was in fine form with the bat on the weekend, scoring 54 as her side beat Carlton to remain undefeated.

4. Lucy Cripps (Dandenong)

Cripps top scored for her side on the weekend as they defeated Prahran to close in on second placed Carlton on the ladder. She scored 51 in the win.

5. Paris Bowdler (Dandenong) (Wicketkeeper)

Making an appearance in the team of the week for a second week in a row, Bowdler was the pick of the wicketkeepers across the four matches. She took two catches and had an unassisted runout in her side’s win over Prahran.

6. Hailey Ferris (Ringwood)

The Ringwood youngster had another fine spell with the ball in her side’s win over Box Hill on the weekend. She took 4/37 off her 10 overs, which included one maiden.

7. Sophie Day (Prahran)

Another fine bowling display from Day on the weekend saw her take 4/37 of nine and a half overs against Dandenong.

8. Samantha Bates (EMP)

Bates had another stellar game with the ball, taking 3/14 off her 10 overs. This included a whopping four maidens.

9. Caitlin Morando (Box Hill)

Morando makes the Team of the Week for the first time this season after a fine display of bowling against Ringwood. She toom 3/8 off four overs, which included two maidens.

10. Ella Hayward (Melbourne)

Another great bowling performance from Hayward saw her take 3/22 off 10 overs in the win against Carlton. This included two maidens.

11. Madison Albers (Carlton)

Despite her side’s loss to the Dees, Albers had another great afternoon with the ball. She took 3/35 off her eight overs.
