Centurion Ram, five-fa Blue bowling star lead Team of the Week
IN a weekend full of shock and crucial results, there were a number of stellar performances across the four Victorian Women’s Premier Firsts Round 12 games. This included a century from a Ram, and a Blue who bowled a whopping five maidens.
1. Makinley Blows (EMP)
EMP managed what was previously unthinkable and actually managed to knock off the undefeated Dees, and Blows was a big part of thar success. Her 70 helped guide her side to the shock upset.
2. Bhavisha Devchand (Ringwood)
The Ringwood skipper had quite the captain’s knock on the weekend, hitting 102 and setting up her side’s crucial win over Prahran.
3. Ellie Threikeld (Prahran)
Despite her side going down, Threikeld made a very handy 56 to keep her side in the game.
4. Zoe Griffiths (Box Hill)
The Mustangs’ skipper was on fire with the bat in her side’s crucial win over Dandenong. She made 76 in the win.
5. Sophie Reid (Wicketkeeper) (Carlton)
In her side’s very comfortable win over the Bats, Reid was the star with the bat. She made 69 in the win.
6. Ella Hayward (Melbourne)
In what was ultimately a shock result, Hayward was the star with the bat for the Dees, making 64.
7. Kirstie Gordon (Box Hill)
In only her second game of the season, Gordon continued where she left off last week and went even better. In her side’s win over Dandenong, she took 4/20 off her 8.2 overs, which included a whopping four maidens.
8. Madison Albers (Carlton)
Albers is having a stellar season, and that was no different on the weekend. She took 4/22 off 10 overs in her side’s win over Plenty Valley, which included a whopping five maidens.
9. Kimberley Garth (Dandenong)
In her side’s loss to Box Hill, Garth took a very neat 3/12 off her 6.5 overs, which included one maiden.
10. Samantha Bates (EMP)
In her side’s upset win over the league leaders, Bates was the best of her side’s bowlers. She took a very economical 3/17 off her 10 overs, which included an impressive three maidens.
11. Tess Flintoff (Ringwood)
Teenage star Flintoff made a stellar comeback to the Rams after being away for Vic and Melbourne Star commitments. In her side’s crucial win over Prahran, she bowled a maiden in her 10 overs, and also took 3/27.
