Jam packed 2023 awaits those in green and gold

AFTER a year full of highs and a lot of wins, 2023 is shaping up to be just as jam packed for the Australian Women’s Cricket team.

In anticipation of the year ahead, let us take a look at all that is in store for the Aussie girls this calendar year.

Pakistan are coming to town in January

First up for the Aussies is a six match series against Pakistan across January.

The series begins with three ODIs on the 16th, 18th and 21st, followed by three T20s on the 24th, 26th and 29th.

The Aussies have already named their squad for the One Day portion of the series, and will see legendary skipper Meg Lanning return from her recent break from the game.

T20 World Cup in Feb

Next up after the Pakistan series, it’s off to South Africa to defend the T20 World Cup. Australia and nine other countries (Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies) are set to do battle in South Africa between February 11 and 27.

The Senior World Cup is set to take place after the inaugural women’s Under 19 T20 World Cup, where Australia and 15 other countries are set to battle it out for the very first title. The Under 19 World Cup is set to get underway on January 14, with the Champion crowned on the 29th January.

Ashes in England

After the World Cup, it’s a trip to the mother country in June with the Aussies set to battle England in another Ashes series.

Now unlike the men’s series, the Women’s Ashes is a little bit different. It is a multi format series, with points awarded for wins across each portion of the series, with the type of game determining how many points the winner gets.

The series begins with the sole test match of the series on June 22.

A One Day series in Ireland

After the Ashes, it is a hop across the Irish sea to the Emerald Isle, with the Aussie girls set to battle the Irish in a three match One Day series.

Now very few details have been announced for this series, so stay tuned for further details such as dates and venues.

The West Indies are also coming to town this year

Heading into the Aussie summer, and it is the West Indies who are coming to town, set to tour the country in September.

Now again no dates or venues have been revealed for this series either, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for all the details.

Multi format series in India to round out the year

Much like 2022, the Aussies are set to round out 2023 with a multi format series in India.

Now again no dates or venues have been revealed for this series either, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for all the details.
