COACH: Griffin SAENDA WORLD CUP DEBUT: 1995 WORLD RANKING: 9 BEST RESULT: 5th Malawi produced a shock win over New Zealand last year at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and will be hoping to reproduce that effort against the Silver Ferns here. The sixth ranked side’s hopes of making a semi-final rest on their opening round game with New Zealand because a win there and knocking off all other sides bar Australia will see them reach the semis. In saying that, with no Mwai Kumwenda, a lot rests on the shoulders of the experienced Joyce Mvula against a hungry Silver Ferns side desperate to atone.
