Historic series between old enemies set for mid year

THERE was an exciting announcement in the world of men’s netball yesterday, with the announcing of a three match series between England and Australia for mid this year.

This is a big jump for the men’s game, as these two do not get to play international series very often. The Thorns themselves only hosted their first international series ever a couple of years ago when they hosted the Jamaicans, and such this will be the first time the Australian Kelpies will play a series on English soil.

The matches will also be double headers with regular season Netball Super League matches, which will hopefully boost the visibility of the series and the crowd numbers for the matches.

Sources inside the England Mens and Mixed Netball Association have confirmed to Rookie Me Central that the series will be available to watch globally, but the platform with which the games will be streamed is yet to be confirmed.

Coming into this series, the English boys will be coming off a second place finish at the Americas Mens Netball Championships, while the Kelpies will head over to England full of confidence after their dominant performance against New Zealand in the Trans Tasman series last year.

England vs Australia Men’s Series Fixture

Game 2 – Sat May 31 | Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham (Double Header with Loughborough Lightning vs Nottingham Forest)

Game 3 – Sun June 1 | Copper Box Arena, London (Double Header with London Pulse vs Leeds Rhinos)
