When it comes to emerging goal keeper Olivia Lewis, nothing is off limits with plenty of potential and a great work rate. A move to the Melbourne Vixens for the 2022 season will bode well for the young defender, who has had plenty of exposure at Suncorp Super Netball level - albeit not consistently - and should fit in well with the Vixens's tough style of defence. Lewis is a reliable option on the court and despite not boasting the height that many goal keepers rely on, the former West Coast Fever player makes up for it with her intent and physicality to match smaller bodied goalers with ease. Lewis also has plenty of smarts and the ability to both body up or play a hunting role, able to produce the attention-grabbing moments.
While Lewis has not had a heap of consistent court time over the years, she has learnt off one of the best in Courtney Bruce and, in turn, has become a highly threatening prospect who can change a game with the drop of a hat. Her great vision up the court plays into her smothering style of defence, while her great anticipation and aerial ability allows her to wreak havoc both on and off the ball. Most importantly, she offers a completely different defensive option to fellow Vixens goal keeper Emily Mannix, allowing a more well-rounded Vixens back-end to come to fruition in 2022.
