A smooth-moving goaler with the versatility to branch out into wing attack when required, McDonald is from an elite sporting family and is well on track to follow her AFL siblings in their tracks but on the netball court instead. With plenty of speed and accuracy to post, McDonald can shoot from range and use her quick feet to reposition both in and outside the circle and cannot be left alone with plenty of agility which allows her to edge closer to the goals. With a high-release shot to evade defensive ploys, McDonald is still young and has plenty of potential to continue developing her craft both in and outside the goal circle.
