PREVIEW | England Thorns vs Jamaica Suns

TONIGHT a historic series begins in London, with the English Thorns set to take on the Jamaican Suns for the very first time.

This is also the first home international series for the Thorns, who look to continue to build on recent matches both at home and last year’s international series.

Led by midcourter James Thomson-Boston, the Thorns have not been around too long, but after a tour to Australia and New Zealand last year, have continued their development against some Netball Super League sides.

A couple of other players to look out for in the Thorns squad include the versatile Nathan Ramsdale-Owen and attacker Luke Owen, who can play both at wing attack and in the shooting circle.

Meanwhile for the Jamaicans, they are led by Kurt Dale, who like Owen can also play across wing attack and the shooting circle. They won the inaugural regional male netball championships in St Vincent and the Grenadines last year, so will be looking to take the next step in their first series against the Thorns.

The Men’s Series is not the only action this weekend, with matches between the EMMNA Mixed and Trailblazers (Saturday) and EMMNA Mixed and Mixed All Stars (Sunday) set to take place before the Thorns versus Suns games.

Fans not at the games can watch via sideline.tv, but there will be a cost associated with that. For more information, head to the website.
