This week in netball: SSN coaches announced, Wasps Netball feature and Junior Levi on the Centre Pass Podcast

ANOTHER huge week in netball has culminated in some significant signings across the netball world as the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) trade period officially came to a close. A couple of new faces enter the SSN for season 2021, including former Celtic Dragons defender Latanya Wilson – joining an international-stacked Adelaide Thunderbirds outfit – and two new head coaches in Megan Anderson and Nicole Richardson who joined Queensland Firebirds and Collingwood Magpies, respectively. Meanwhile, Kaylia Stanton was signed on by the Melbourne Vixens, completing the premiers’ 2021 team alongside youngsters Ruby Barkmeyer and Allie Smith.

The latest departures from SSN include former Sunshine Coast Lightning defender Annika Lee-Jones, who replaces Wilson at the Dragons in the Vitality Netball Superleague, while it was confirmed that Layla Guscoth will rejoin her former club, Team Bath in the VNSL, too. Also in Superleague news, we chatted to Wasps Netball head coach Mel Mansfield and veteran goal shooter, Rachel Dunn about the franchises success and how it has navigated the unfortunate circumstances surrounding netball in 2020. Finally, the Centre Pass Podcast team chatted to men’s netballer Junior Levi about his netball journey and thoughts on the state of netball in 2020, while the team also began its Fantasy Netball Draft series, with the first two mini-episodes discussing their selections out now on all major podcasting platforms.
